and there isnt really any goodlooking interns/lawyers for my eyes to feast on. You noe, usually the anticipation and fretfulness upon such magnificent sight will create palpitating heartbeata and tends to set off the motivation to said life mentioned above. but seems like there is no such luck. (and i hope no colleagues of mine will ever come across this blog. esp the gentlemen)
woookays, first day of work, was surprising erm, less boring den expected. Disappointing due to the fact tt we were almost able to attend court session if it wasnt bcos we were not dressed in black and white. Anyways, Engelin Teh Practice LLC is the firm. The place is pretty cool. Great layout, condusive enviroment, toilet is sweeeet. damn clean and shiny. and yes, nice peeps and all. Ms Rani helped us alot on our first day, thou she's pretty new to the company too. Well, reached, said hi, went to desk, smiled, sat down, started talking to ab, played "21 questions", looked around, wishing somebody would notice our presence. and OH, 1 and a half hour later, our presence were finally felt. Work taught and allocated. We were taught to draft Bill of Cost and Time Cost, and bam! the hours flew by thereafter. but the comp is kinda sucky cos its friggin windows 98! It feels rather foreign to me. and No. No pun intended. PLUS, Ab's comp was spoilt while my IE cant be used. so we both shifted desk, FAR FAR AWAY! im using some lawyer room temporarily until my IE is fixed. actually, it can remain tt way, i dun mind using the room. =D
Meanwhile, i tried all means and ways to avoid going anywhere near topics about studies/WOS/MOA/MOA default in judgement & bah bah bah during conversation with people, esp lawyer.. I CANT RMB NO SHIT PLEASE. My brain's all wiped out. and hello, results just further proved my point. C+ for Civ Pro yo. damn it! okay back to e point, Mr Yeo brought me out for lunch and started asking all law/studies related stuff. and my replies were practically, stuttering and convo went like;
He: "so, you said you've studied Civ Pro. what did you learn in it?"
Me (confidently):"Oh, hmm mainly drafting and all."
He: "ooo? isit? what do you draft?"
Me (slightly shaken): "erm like filing and service of WOS, MOS, MOA"
He: "uh huh, so tell me how is the procedure like? what do you file first?"
Me (DAMN IT DAMN IT!): "errr, Writ... den MOS and MOA?
He: "before u file the MOS wad must u do?"
Me (kanchiong-ing) : "errr errr errr?"
He: "yes?"
(after 3mins) (awkward silence) (bah bah bah) (blinked, looked around)
He: "You will have to serve it on the defendant first right! tts wad MOService is about yes?"
Me: "OH, yes, yes....."
Sigh, and it went further on. its basically what the whole lunch topic was about. This is so bad okay. ON MY FIRST DAY?! LIKE WHYYYYY! Ab escaped this cos he was fasting and din wan to join us. Its okay, i learn along the way. Tmr will be a better day. I look forward to my wake up call at 7am. =D
